Hyperbaric Oxygen is a method of delivering high doses of oxygen to the body. It is done by breathing 100% oxygen while inside a pressurized chamber at 2 to 3 times normal sea level pressure for short periods of time. It is a very comfortable environment and patients can watch television or sleep while in the chamber. All of the benefits provided by hyperbaric oxygen therapy are the result of this extra oxygen being carried within the bloodstream.
