Auxilians provide an array of volunteer services to both the patients and the hospital. They provide the following services:
Assignments are made by the Auxiliary Board based on hospital and state regulations, patient needs and volunteer desires. If you have a skill, we can find a way for you to use it!
We work in four-hour shifts, primarily from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, but can be flexible with our hours of operation to fit the needs of our volunteers.
Since volunteers are an integral part of the healthcare team, applicants are required to submit to a criminal background check and drug screen before becoming a member of the Auxiliary. Upon acceptance into the Auxiliary, new members attend an eight-hour hospital orientation and then fifteen more hours of on-the-job training with our more seasoned volunteers. Join our Auxiliary and work with other volunteers of diverse and interesting backgrounds who are committed to contributing to the health and wellbeing of our community. You'll find the experience both fulfilling and enjoyable.
Volunteers play a very important and essential role at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. These roughly 120 men and women are all ages and come from all walks of life. They run the gift shop, transport patients, provide on-campus courier service, assist with admissions and discharges, answer phones, staff the information desk and complete special projects.
