Description:

Safe Sitter® teaches adolescent babysitters how to handle crises, how to keep their charges secure, and how to nurture and guide a young child. Topics include babysitting as a business, babysitting ethics (such as when it's ok to cancel or refuse a babysitting job), how to care for a choking infant or child, personal safety, how to care for children (diapering, holding an infant, feeding, entertaining, etc.), injury prevention, basic first aid, preventing problem behavior, and behavior management.

Audience:

11-13 year-old girls or boys

Course Materials:

Student manual with completion card, two introducing Safe Sitter® cards, important numbers, Post-Its pad, band-aid dispenser, flashlight, messenger bag.
