Piedmont Healthcare Opens Piedmont Surgery Specialists in Newnan

PNH Welcomes Sharon Davis, M.D., FACS, to its Medical Staff

NEWNAN, Ga. (July 2, 2009) – Piedmont Newnan Hospital (PNH) welcomes general surgeon Sharon Davis, M.D., FACS, to its medical staff.  On Monday, July 6, Dr. Davis and Piedmont Healthcare will open Piedmont Surgery Specialists on Piedmont Newnan Hospital’s campus at 64 Hospital Road in Newnan.

Dr. Davis earned her medical degree from Emory University Medical School in Atlanta. She completed her residency in general surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla., where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Davis is board-certified in general surgery.

Prior to joining Piedmont Surgery Specialists, Dr. Davis was in private practice in Pensacola, Fla., for more than ten years. She also served as a staff surgeon for the U.S. Air Force. Dr. Davis is a member of the American Medical Association, American Cancer Society, American Medical Women’s Association, and American Association of Women Surgeons.
